Preliminary Task - Possible Sound Effects
As part of my preliminary task, I've gathered several music and sound effects from the BBC Sound Effects Library and the college's music CD's to use for my jingle and archive clip.
Both crowd noises I want to use are taken from the central crowd sound effects folder in the BBC Sound Effects Library.
The music track above is the one I want to use for my jingle - it was taken from my college's music CD Library and comes from the CD called 'Financial Futures'.

My Preliminary Task Script
Below is my script for my preliminary task which I will be recording later this week.
Name: SportTalk 90 'non stop sport'
Frequency: 90.0
Tagline: 'Non stop sport'
Jingle: Includes (Horns, Goal, Crowd, Football Kicked, Voiceover)
Presenter: Rob
Guest: David Rock
JINGLE: SportTalk 90 - non stop sport
ROB: Welcome back to 'SportTalk', we now have England's World Cup hero here David Rock, hello David.
DAVID: Hi Rob, you ok?
ROB: Yes all good, now you won the nation's heart with that fantastic winning free kick. Let's take ourselves back to that moment.
ARCHIVE CLIP:
COMMENTATOR: 5 minutes to go, it's now or never, can the Rock do it again? (SFX - crowd cheer, horns, football noise) He looks up, takes two steps and oh my, unbelievable (really excited) ... England are through! This has to be one of the greatest moments in football history. Unbelievable!
ROB: How did you feel?
DAVID: Well it was one of the most exhilarating moments of my life, as soon as the ball hit the net I knew this was it (FADE OUT).
For my preliminary task, I have decided to create a sports radio station aimed at male listeners (between the ages of 18-60). I listen to sports radio stations quite frequently, so I had some good ideas about what to include - though I know that I will have to do much more detailed research before I complete my full show. Often the presenters have footballers as guests, with clips of their defining sporting moments. In my clip I have created an imaginary football player, David Rock, and the clip is of an important goal he has scored in the past. Also, I want to include sound effects in the jingle that the audience will instantly associate with football - such as crowd noises, cheering and horns.

AS Media Foundation Production - My Brief
For my AS Foundation Production I will be scripting, recording and editing an extract from a fictional local radio station, lasting approximately five minutes. The extract will focus around a news bulletin (including a number of stories, voxpops, outside broadcasts and correspondents), jingles, presenters and possibly adverts - as my extract will be from a commercial radio station.
Before I begin my research into existing radio stations (all of which will appear on my blog), I will be scripting my preliminary task which will include the following:
- Station Jingle
- A presenter introducing a guest, who must respond
- An archive clip featuring the guest
